🥘 The Curious Case of the Salad Sunday Switch-Up

Once upon a hopeful Friday, Chickpea was buzzing. The tortilla Zoom session was prepped, the camera angled just so, and the veggie stars were ready for their close-up. She’d invited 8 friends and family to join her for tortilla-making magic. A passive but heartfelt invite. Surely, someone would click in?

Plot twist:Absolutely no one. Not even a hungry squirrel made an appearance. 😅🦬

Not a single tortilla was flipped. Not a bell pepper diced. But Chickpea didn’t sulk — she sipped her tea and thought: “Maybe it’s just a Friday thing...” 🍵

Then! Like a ray of beautifully marinated sunshine — came a message from Cherry Blossom:

“Can’t do Friday, but I’m totally in for Sunday salad prep! 14:00 instead of 11:00?”

YES. PLEASE. THANK YOU. Chickpea nearly danced into her fridge. This wasn’t tortilla night, no — it was going to be Salad Sunday 🌱

Cherry Blossom had even pre-ordered ingredients before heading off to Portugal (passport, beach towel, and chickpeas all packed). At 14:00 sharp, her whole family tuned in for what turned into a full-on meal-prep-palooza.

Smartie and Chocolate Button (a.k.a. the most enthusiastic kid chefs on Zoom) jumped into action — washing, peeling, and chopping like mini professionals. Veggies were lined up like soldiers, ready to feed the week.

Then suddenly…Zoom went POOF. 🖥️🚫

Chickpea stared at the screen. “Wait a second… I paid for unlimited Zoom! Why is this happening to me!?”

But Cherry Blossom, cool as a cucumber (also sliced), had them all reconnected in no time.Crisis averted.

The session wrapped just over an hour later — salads prepped, ingredients portioned, and Chickpea’s heart full.

Cherry Blossom gave some golden feedback:

“Love it all — but I’d like more protein. Could easily add eggs or chicken.”

Done. Easy swaps, big difference.Also:

“This amount of goodness takes longer to eat… but I’m not hungry two hours later.”
