The Curious Case of the Disappearing Lunchbox
Once upon a Monday, Chickpea left her job. But strangely... she didn’t feel sad. Not really. Deep down, Chickpea knew it might actually be a good thing.
Because all Chickpea really wanted was to spend her time helping her favourite people—family and friends—to learn and adopt healthy, purposeful habits to live happily ever after.
And what better place to start than lunch?
So on that very Monday, Chickpea made a delicious, nutritious lunch for her dear friend Black Bean. She packed it neatly and left it by the front door. Ready for action. Ready to shine. Ready to be eaten.
Tuesday rolled around, and something magical had happened—now Lentil and Peanut wanted homemade lunches too! Chickpea beamed. She was starting a lunchbox revolution.
By Wednesday, Chickpea was on a roll. She prepped, she packed, and, as always, placed Black Bean’s lunch by the front door—same place as every day. Only this time, she used one of Lentil’s old lunchboxes. You know the one.The Bambi one. With the sparkles.
Lunchbox ready. Mission complete.
But when Chickpea was heading out the door… there it was. The Bambi lunchbox. Still sitting there. Untouched.
“Hey... I think Black Bean forgot his lunch?”
Chickpea blinked. That couldn’t be right. She picked up her phone and texted him.
Black Bean replied:
“There was no lunchbox by the door this morning.”
Now Chickpea was confused. It had been right there—as always! She told Lentil and Peanut about the mysterious disappearing lunch.
Everyone paused.
Then Chickpea gasped.
“Wait. I used Lentil’s old Bambi lunchbox.”
Lentil’s eyes widened. Peanut snorted.
“You put his lunch in disguise!” Lentil said.
There was a beat of silence. Then the three of them burst into giggles.
Because of course Black Bean hadn’t taken the lunch. He hadn’t recognised it in its sparkly unicorn camouflage.
Chickpea shook her head and smiled. Then she texted Black Bean:
“Mystery solved. Your lunch was in disguise.”
Black Bean replied with three laughing emojis and one slice of avocado.
Crisis averted. Lessons learned.
