A Week in My Life: Baking, Fitness, and Learning from Experts

A Week in My Life: Baking, Fitness, and Learning from Experts

This week has been full of activity, inspiration, and a few delicious experiments in the kitchen!

Starting the Week: Walks and Workshops

Tuesday began with a refreshing dog walk, the perfect way to start the week and clear my head.

On Wednesday, I joined a Brioche and Bun Making workshop at Brough Market – what fun! I enjoyed it so much that I’m already looking forward to February’s Ancient Grains workshop.

Lentil’s Options Evening

Thursday was Lentil’s school options evening – an exciting moment as she starts thinking about the subjects she might study in the future. Watching her take these first steps is inspiring.

Busy Weekend: Sports and Baking

Friday was quieter with just one house visit. Saturday was full of kids’ swimming lessons, football, and my first attempt at making buns in the afternoon – not perfect, but delicious!

Sunday was extra special – I attended the FIT Partnership event in Esher, an inspiring day focused on health, longevity, and wellness.

Learning from Experts

The FIT Partnership event began with members sharing their personal health journeys, which was incredibly moving. Then came the expert panel:

  • Dr Ash Kapoor, Founder of Levitas, focusing on root causes of health issues for lasting vitality

  • Kelly Duffy, Certified High Performance Coach, specialising in energy, resilience, and sustainable well‑being

  • Dima Martini‑Drew MD, Founder & CEO of CortexBio, a physician-scientist expert in metabolic pathways and ageing

Their insights were practical, evidence-based, and motivating. I came away feeling just as exhilarated as after the baking workshop – the kind of feeling that makes you think, “Yes, I can do this!”

Business Projects: New Poster

I also spent time on a new poster for my business this week. I had to use a website to create it, but I’m thrilled with the results! Just for fun, I’m sharing it here so friends can see how I’m getting on.

Reading and Inspiration

I’ve been reading Unplugged, co-written by Dr Andy Galpin, who I recently heard on the ZOE podcast. It’s fascinating to explore his ideas about energy, movement, and performance, sparking new ideas for both personal growth and my work with clients.

Reflections on the Week

This week reminded me how important it is to balance work, family, learning, and fun. Between workshops, events, school evenings, and reading, I’ve been reminded that it’s the small moments – walks, baking, conversations – that make life rich.

What’s inspiring me for the week ahead:

  • More cooking experiments

  • Planning meaningful steps toward better health for myself, my family, and my clients

  • Diving deeper into the insights from Unplugged

Tip for Readers:Small steps count! Even tiny changes in your daily routine or habits can make a big difference over time. Knowledge really is power.
